Job Summary: The Manufacturing Lead is responsible for the overall extrusion operations for a particular production crew. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Electrical Controls Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, programming and installing electrical control systems used in manufacturing, including plant power distribution equipment, facility electrical equipment and auxiliary systems.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:- Troubleshoot electrical control systems, and mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and general industrial control equipment.
<ul>
<li>Identify and perform machine preventative maintenance and repairs based on machine operation and condition. Identify equipment requiring periodic maintenance and help develop and maintain schedules for maintenance intervals.</li>
<li>Interact with production and operations associates to determine machine issues and resolution action plans. Set priorities based on production needs.</li>
<li>Account for and record parts and supplies used for repairs of equipment and plant utilities.</li>
<li>Develop B-O-Ms for electrical jobs performed in the plant.</li>
<li>Involvement in determining spare parts stock levels and part types. Involved in developing a standard parts scheme for the plant.</li>
<li>Involvement in creating and maintaining plant electrical system documentation.</li>
<li>Keep plant electrical test equipment in proper working condition.</li>
<li>Build new electrical control equipment as well as modify existing equipment.</li>
<li>Read, develop and interpret technical documents and drawings (operating/maintenance instructions, electrical drawings and schematics, programs, procedure manuals).</li>
<li>Perform &amp; manage small to medium plant electrical projects and work orders.</li>
<li>Keep abreast of new electrical control technologies.</li>
<li>Be available for off-shift technical support to production lines.</li>
<li>Develop and conduct technical training for other plant associates.</li>
<li>Operate, utilize, and maintain a personal computer for electrical troubleshooting, programming, configuring, and general maintenance of electrical control equipment.</li>
<li>Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.</li>
<li>Understand &amp; follow NEC/NFPA 70, 70E, &amp; 79, as well as OSHA code regulations as they pertain to the plant facility &amp; equipment.</li>
</ul>
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- 3+ years of experience in electrical/industrial controls.
<ul>
<li>Working knowledge of PLC programming, variable speed drive systems/motion control systems, HMI (Human Machine Interface) programming</li>
<li>Working knowledge of temperature controls systems</li>
<li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills</li>
</ul>
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Associate’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field
<ul>
<li>Experience in project management</li>
</ul>
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:- Must be able to stand for long periods; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.
<ul>
<li>Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.</li>
<li>Must have close, distance, color, &amp; peripheral vision abilities along with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.</li>
