We are currently seeking a QC Chemist to join our GFS Chemicals Family. This is a 1st shift position, with a schedule of 7:00AM - 3:30PM, Monday-Thursday.
Requirements:
<ul>
<li>A bachelor's degree with a science focus or equivalent work related experience in analytical testing, laboratory, or quality control</li>
<li>0-2 years’ previous experience in analytical testing, laboratory or quality control required.</li>
<li>Strong commitment to practicing safe behaviors</li>
<li>Demonstrates a positive, team-based attitude</li>
<li>Effectively evaluates data and communicates results</li>
<li>Mindset for attention to detail and ability to work independently</li>
<li>Be medically cleared and able to wear required PPE, including company provided respiratory protection</li>
</ul>
Essential Responsibilities:
You will perform quality control product testing, maintain accurate batch/lot records, and assure products meet specifications set by the ACS, the company, and its customers. Each day presents unique challenges as we strive to stay on the cutting edge of technology. The successful candidate will also participate in the development of new testing methods and processes working closely with end use customers and operations. 
Daily activities: 
<ul>
<li>Analyze samples from production, stock, and bought for resale chemicals according to GFS/ACS testing methods and specifications.</li>
<li>Perform basic calibrations on equipment.</li>
<li>Maintain and clean laboratory and equipment.</li>
<li>Maintain and re-standardize laboratory reagents.</li>
<li>Observe plant activities for quality compliance.</li>
<li>Record results for all tests on QC worksheets, data entry to the ERP system, and certificate of analysis generation.</li>
<li>Responsible for recording a pass/fail record and retaining/storing analyzed samples.</li>
<li>Familiarity with wet chemistry.</li>
<li>Daily use of the following lab equipment, which includes calibration and routine maintenance of machines such as:
<ol>
<li>pH Meter</li>
<li>Auto and manual titrations</li>
<li>Karl Fischer water analysis</li>
<li>Density Meter</li>
<li>ICP-OES</li>
<li>Moisture Analyzer</li>
</ol>
</li>
<li>Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor to accomplish the goals of the Company.</li>

Manage flavor development projects and provide project direction to R&amp;D, Technology, Sales, Category Management, etc. as necessary. Formulate new flavor creations or modify existing flavors to meet customer requirements, internal testing needs or new technology development. The Flavor Chemist will effectively drive functional business growth in support of company goals and objectives while continuing to learn valuable techniques from Senior Flavor Chemists to advance knowledge, skills, techniques, and expertise.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul>
<li>Create Savory flavors that meet the regulatory, cost, and performance guidelines outlined in R&amp;D projects. Modify existing flavors and/or create new flavors as needed to meet internal as well as external customer project requirements.</li>
<li>Complete assigned projects and internal requests within the designated time frame and cost guidelines. Follows all procedures for documentation of flavor specifications and project completion.</li>
<li>Ensure that all flavors created adhere to manufacturing standards and internal technical and commercial aspects.</li>
<li>Provide technical flavor expertise and customer support (internal and external) for assigned market/project segments. </li>
<li>Lead technical presentations to customers and sales force as needed. </li>
<li>May manage a Flavor Technician’s daily work efforts.</li>
<li>Supports internal teams with issues or challenges as assigned.</li>
<li>Assist in the general up-keep, maintenance, and stocking of the Flavor Laboratory, e.g., lab cleanliness, raw material and flavor sample archival and inventory management.</li>
<li>Consistent with MANE’s environmental commitments, every employee shall actively participate in relevant education/training based upon corporate and local environmental objectives.</li>
<li>Other duties and responsibilities in support of company objectives</li>
<li>This role may require occasional travel for customer meetings, industry events, or project collaboration. Flexibility to travel as needed is expected.</li>

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s Degree in Science or related discipline</li>
<li>10+ years of experience creating winning flavors. </li>
<li>Thermally processed flavor formulation experience is considered an advantage.</li>
<li>Certified membership into the Society of Flavor Chemists is considered an advantage.</li>
