Job Responsibilities
Rapid Response &amp; Readiness
<ul>
<li>Flexible 40 work hours must be completed during the following hours: Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 8:00 pm
<ul>
<li>Overtime available</li>
<li>Some weekend hours available</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Be prepared to leave for a shift within 30 minutes during on-call hours (BrightStar will schedule shifts as far in advance as possible)</li>
<li>Maintain readiness by ensuring:
<ul>
<li>Uniform and ID badge are worn</li>
<li>Childcare is pre-arranged</li>
<li>Cell phone is charged, and ringer is on</li>
<li>Transportation is available</li>
<li>Equipment and necessary supplies are always accessible</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Support BrightStar office operations when not assigned to field shifts</li>
</ul>
Direct Client Care &amp; Case Management
<ul>
<li>Conduct initial assessments, re-assessments, and safety evaluations</li>
<li>Deliver skilled nursing per Ohio Nurse Practice Act (e.g., infusion therapies, wound care, injections, etc.)</li>
<li>Observe and report changes in client condition, document thoroughly</li>
<li>Follow infection control protocols and universal precautions</li>
<li>Respond appropriately in emergencies and use equipment safely</li>
</ul>
Administrative Support
<ul>
<li>Develop and maintain person-centered Plans of Care and obtain physician signatures</li>
<li>Coordinate care with families, providers, and internal staff</li>
<li>Assist with referral intake and follow-up communications</li>
<li>Assist Clinical Director with:
<ul>
<li>Weekly chart reviews for compliance (JCAHO, state, brand standards)</li>
<li>Incident reporting and resolution</li>
<li>Timely client discharges with complete summaries</li>
<li>Daily documentation review to support billing and reimbursement</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Supervise and coach nursing/caregiving staff:
<ul>
<li>Conduct competency assessments and supervisory visits</li>
<li>Lead caregiver-client introductions and field education</li>
<li>Facilitate orientation, skills training, and in-service programs</li>
<li>Be available for urgent clinical issues or questions</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
Job Requirements
Licensure &amp; Education
<ul>
<li>Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio</li>
<li>Degree in Nursing from a National League for Nursing-accredited program</li>
<li>Minimum of three (3) years clinical experience, including at least one (1) year of documented case management</li>
<li>Preferred: One (1) year experience in a home health agency and healthcare management</li>
<li>Preferred: One (1) year experience working with pediatric clients</li>
</ul>
Clinical &amp; Regulatory Competencies
<ul>
<li>Strong nursing assessment skills and attention to detail</li>
<li>Ability to supervise, educate, and direct staff effectively</li>
<li>Thorough understanding of regulatory compliance at state and federal levels</li>
<li>Familiarity with Joint Commission policies and survey preparedness</li>
<li>Adherence to HIPAA standards and commitment to client confidentiality</li>
<li>Ability to manage complaints and complex situations using sound clinical judgment</li>
<li>Experience in client teaching and public speaking</li>
</ul>
Interpersonal &amp; Professional Skills
<ul>
<li>Excellent customer service and tactful communication with clients, staff, and community partners</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills including active listening, empathy, leadership, and motivation</li>
<li>Ability to multi-task, troubleshoot, and remain composed in high-pressure situations</li>
<li>Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team</li>
<li>Technologically proficient (Microsoft Office, EMR platforms)</li>

Availability &amp; Health Requirements
<ul>
<li>Flexible schedule with availability for on-call coverage as needed within assigned territory and surrounding region</li>
<li>Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance</li>
<li>Willingness to travel daily throughout the assigned territory, including weekends, evenings, and holidays</li>
<li>Current CPR certification and negative TB test within the past 12 months</li>
<li>Up-to-date vaccinations: Influenza, COVID-19, Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis, Rubella, Varicella, MMR, Hepatitis B</li>
<li>Ability to pass drug screening, background check, and criminal record clearance upon hire and any beyond</li>
<li>Must be able to stand walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds</li>
