Join our growing team as an Assistant Project Engineer and assist the project team in the planning and execution of successful mass excavating and construction projects! 
 
This position is continuously open because are always looking for talented Assistant Project Engineers in various locations and departments within our company. 
Primary Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Assists in the preparation of work orders, schedules, drawings, field measurements, subcontracts and supplier agreements</li>
<li>Attends preconstruction meetings, assisting in preparing a list of action items and proposed solutions</li>
<li>Provides support to the Project Manager, Project Superintendent and Contract Administrator in preparing job documents and materials</li>
<li>Analyzes processes, assists with layout, construction sequencing, cost analysis, measures quantities, supporting field employees, clarifying specifications, as necessary</li>
<li>Ensure proper document control, quality assurance documentation and construction project records are kept in accordance with expectations</li>
<li>Assist in monitoring the project site, ensuring that the work is progressing on schedule</li>
<li>Develops solid working relationships with all project personnel</li>

Assistant Project Engineer

Essential Job Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Responsible for yearly budget tracking and cash out of Services.</li>
<li>Facilitate standardized North American approval and closure process for capital spending for all Capital spend levels (Lump Sum, Simple, Low, Medium, and Large complexity).</li>
<li>Preparation and presentation of 5-year CapEx Industrial plan for Services Facilities.</li>
<li>Facilitate prioritization of portfolio and challenge projects/initiatives to support business needs.</li>
<li>Assist in discounted cash flow and profitability analysis for prioritizing projects.</li>
<li>Responsible for Execution of Services CapEx portfolio in coordination with project managers.</li>
<li>Develop/train/coach CapEx project managers on project management competencies. Project Managers may or may not hierarchically report to the CapEx officer.</li>
<li>Guide and train on technical documentation preparation (specifications, scopes of supply/work, functional descriptions).</li>
<li>Work in close cooperation with the Project Engineering and Execution Managers, as well as local Controlling and Shared Service groups, to coordinate activities.</li>
<li>Regularly visit project sites at shop floor for project review and to assist Project Managers in problem-solving.</li>
<li>Implement and lead the process for monthly review of current and future CapEx programs within each department.</li>
<li>Support resource planning for future projects.</li>
<li>Conducts monthly review of current CapEx programs within each department.</li>
<li>Conduct Project Closure and Post-check Analysis for accounting/asset tracking.</li>
<li>Execution of controlling initiatives and processes as they relate to business planning, CapEx, and/or operational reporting and continuous improvement.</li>
<li>Retain proper CapEx documentation for audit control and lessons learned.</li>
<li>Assist with invoice tracking with Shared Service Center.</li>
</ul>
Functional / Technical Knowledge:
<ul>
<li>Must be proficient with Microsoft applications, with particular emphasis in Excel</li>
<li>Demonstrated problem-solving skills and decision-making skills</li>
<li>Continuous Improvement methodologies a plus</li>
