This is a hands-on position that requires qualified candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 50% of their day troubleshooting equipment, including mechanical and basic electrical issues. You will be on the manufacturing floor daily communicating with the production staff and working with your team to continuously improve operations and meet production goals. REQUIREMENTS for the Sr. Machining Engineer:
1. Minimum of an Associate’s degree with at least eight years of lead process engineering experience OR a Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of lead process engineering experience
2. Experience working in machining environments with advanced working knowledge of machining processes 
3. Experience with complex programming of CNC machining centers
4. Experience implementing process improvements (scrap reductions, increase efficiencies, etc.)
5. Capital equipment project management, including cost justifications and managing timelines and budgets 
6. Mechanical troubleshooting skills
7. AutoCAD and/or 3D modeling for plant layout and/or fixture design
8. Willing to travel internationally when needed 
9. Microsoft Office

1. Automotive supplier work experience
2. Experience with horizontal machining centers

Job DescriptionJob Summary
The PDM Field Engineer I is based at the jobsite and is responsible for facilitating the interface between the jobsite and the home office engineering staff. When not assigned to a jobsite, the PDM Field Project Engineer I will be assigned to a Matrix engineering office to perform design and project engineering tasks in support of current projects.
Essential Functions
<ul>

<li>Assists the construction team with the interpretation of engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documents.</li>

<li>Communicates and transfers field issues to engineering group to improve engineering deliverables for efficient fabrication, erection, installation and testing of pressure vessels, storage tanks, piping and equipment.</li>

<li>Supports in conducting and documenting facility performance tests when within the project scope.</li>
<li>Supports the construction superintendent regarding construction planning requiring engineering interface.</li>
<li>Coordinates site visit timing and requirements for engineering discipline EORs observations and sign-off.</li>
<li>Works on special projects as assigned and directed by supervisor, the project engineer, or by the construction team.</li>
<li>Travels to meetings with customers and vendors as required.</li>
<li>Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.</li>

Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical or other related discipline required.</li>
<li>Entry-level Engineer; no experience required but field experience on construction project sites highly preferred. </li>
<li>Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and good organizational skills.</li>
<li>Ability to perform with minimal supervision.</li>
<li>Ability to work on multiple activities at one time.</li>
<li>Strong computer skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word are required.</li>
<li>Travel Requirements - assignments will be field positions at construction sites throughout North America with periodic stints in an office including a potential initial office assignment to learn the Matrix way. </li>
<li>Physical Demands - Light physical effort required to sit or stand, reach, bend, and move about facility (including ladders and stairs).</li>

Qualifications - Education/Experience:

<li>Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university; Professional Engineer (PE) license and Industry related training certification(s).</li>
<li>Twenty (20) or more years working in at least three (3) of the following service areas: Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Polymers/Resins compounding, and Manufacturing -OR- Ten (10) years of relevant consulting work.</li>
<li>Ability to provide professional seal for governmental permitting procedures.</li>
<li>Advanced knowledge of building codes as they relate to civil/structural design.</li>
<li>Experience in acting as project manager on civil/structural based projects.</li>
<li>Ability to obtain data from field observations, including working at heights via ladder or personnel lifts as required.</li>
<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines and have strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li>
<li>Proficient in using Microsoft Office, STAAD, STAAD Foundation, Bluebeam and AutoCAD. Familiarity with Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Tekla Tedds, Hilti PROFIS, RAM Elements and other engineering or drafting software is helpful but not required.</li>
<li>Optional experience: basic surveying for determination of project elevations using level and/or total station equipment; limited stormwater/sewer design for small-scale in-plant systems or extension of existing systems; familiarity with the implementation of laser scanning in project design.</li>
