The Metcut Research Inc. is responsible for providing customer data for both Research and Development and Qualification runoff programs. These tasks along with experimental evaluation of materials and their performance are completed in support of numerous industries including Aerospace, Land Transportation, Oil and Gas and many others.
There are 4 primary test types performed at Metcut (additional functions include friction and wear testing, dynamic modulus and torsion testing):

<li>Tensile Testing – Metcut conducts tensile, compression and flexural tests utilizing Electro-Mechanical Test frames.</li>
<li>Creep and Stress Rupture – Metcut utilizes over 140 static test frames with varying load capabilities up to 30,000 lbs.</li>

In the role of Technician, you will be responsible to work with engineers in component test evaluation efforts with core responsibilities to include:

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer (FSE) for PVD equipment. The FSE will provide on-site support during installation, along with after-sales service and maintenance for our advanced Inline PVD Equipment. The ideal candidate will have a background in semiconductor, display, photovoltaics, and/or architectural glass manufacturing, knowledge of copy exact principles and hands on experience troubleshooting inline sputtering and evaporation processes and hardware.
 
Key Responsibilities:
<ul>
<li>Installation and Commissioning: Oversee the installation and commissioning of inline-based sputter and evaporation equipment at customer sites.</li>
<li>Maintenance and Repair: Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on PVD systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. </li>
<li>Customer Support: Provide technical support and training to customers on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and best practices.</li>
<li>Process Optimization: Collaborate with customers to optimize PVD processes and improve product yields.</li>
<li>Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service activities, equipment performance, and customer interactions.</li>
<li>Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams, both external and internal, to identify in-field issues, resolve, and contribute to product improvements.</li>
<li>Travel: Travel to customer sites as needed, both domestically and internationally.</li>
</ul>
 
Qualifications:
<ul>
<li>Bachelors degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field preferred</li>
<li>5+ years of experience in servicing PVD equipment, with a focus on inline sputter or evaporation systems.</li>
<li>Strong troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience with vacuum systems and plasma technology.</li>
<li>Excellent communication skills. German &amp; Mandarin language a plus.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li>
<li>Willingness to travel frequently.</li>
</ul>
