<li>Assures that floors, resident rooms, common areas and service rooms are free of hazardous debris.</li>
<li>Performs daily tasks in accordance with infection control and standard precaution policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Follows policies and procedures related to body mechanics and lift systems.</li>
<li>Assures residents individual care plans are being followed by nursing assistants, LPN's reviewing the assignment sheets.</li>
<li>Assures that nursing assistants are completing their required documentation before the end of the shift, including EMR's, Restorative Care, Food/Intake Records and all other records.</li>
<li>Maintain an adequate understanding of the QA/PI process and participate in performance improvement committees as requested.</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned. </li>

Department: Brethren Care at Home

The Care Companion supports our mission and values by performing various activities to meet the care and/or service needs of a client in their home environment, including personal care assistance, meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, transportation, activities, and resident support services as well as participate in improving quality of care/services.
The Care Companion's primary responsibilities include: 
<ul>
<li>Prepares specific food items following appropriate standards for food preparation, handling, and services.</li>
<li>Serves client meals ensuring the temperature, portions, and timeliness of the service.</li>
<li>Performs a variety of general cleaning duties for the entire house which includes but is not limited to: dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning windows, cleaning carpets.</li>
<li>Perform laundry duties such as washing, drying, folding and putting away</li>
<li>Empties waste containers, collects and disposes of recyclables and garbage.</li>
<li>Change bed linens and make beds.</li>
<li>Collects soiled laundry: washes, dries, folds, irons, performs minor clothing repairs and distributes laundry.</li>
<li>Delivers mail and packages to client.</li>
<li>Transport client when needed.</li>
<li>Assists with all client needs for personal care services.</li>
<li>Inform supervisor of client needs and concerns.</li>
<li>Attends and participates in Brethren Care At Home team meetings as required.</li>
<li>Attends in-services outside of Brethren Care Village and/or Brethren Care At Home for support and needs of the client</li>
<li>Other duties as assigned. </li>
</ul>
What do I need for this role?

<li>High School Diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.</li>
<li>Training in geriatrics (nursing, social work, rehabilitation or therapeutic recreation) or sufficient related prior work experience is preferred but not required.</li>
